Who is a pirate?
This is the name of a new exhibition opening on 5 December at the Maritime Museum in Stockholm. History shows that piracy arises under special geographical, political and social circumstances. The Swedish Vitalie Brothers, who in the 1300s struck terror into the hearts of sailors on the Baltic Sea are one example – just like the pirates of today in the Gulf of Aden by Somalia.
