The Maritime Museum lists pleasure boats. We aim to make them better recognized, better preserved, and more used.
Since 2009, it is possible to apply for a pleasure boat to be listed. We want to strengthen interest in these older boats. We also hope to increase knowledge of their history. As older boats need more care we hope to and raise the status for this fleet of traditional pleasure boats. We mean that if these boats are given extra attention, they will have a better chance of being preserved. To be listed the boat must:
- be constructed in Sweden before 1966
- be well preserved and well kept
- have a well-known, well documented history
Observe: We do not list Swedish boats owned and used in other countries.
The owner of a historic boat applies voluntarily for his/her boat to be listed by us.
